Sprint Campus

Sprint Campus

The Sprint World Headquarters, otherwise known as the Sprint Campus, stretches north and south between the cross streets of 115th and 119th, and east to west between Nall and Metcalf Avenues. The 200-acre campus with a capacity of 14,500 occupants is also the location for other businesses, including CareCentrix Inc., KeyBank National Association, Allstate Insurance Company, Black & Veatch, Apria Healthcare Inc., CoreSource, Alcatel-Lucent U.S.A. Inc., UnitedLex Corporation, JP Morgan Retirement Plan Services LLC, FishNet Security Inc. and MIQ Logistics LLC.

A great place to work

The college-style campus features 17 office buildings with 4 million square feet of open-plan office space. None of the buildings exceeds five stories and all employ a traditional brick exterior for timeless architecture. Fourteen parking garages provide 4 million square feet of parking. The campus is conveniently located near I-435. Its innovative technology infrastructure, campus services and on-site amenities simplify occupants’ lives and enable them to be more productive.

Campus support facilities include a fitness center, two dining centers, four state-of-the-art conference centers, a 345-seat auditorium and an employee activity center. An on-site health clinic provides accessible health care for employees and their families.

On-site retail amenities include a pharmacy and convenience store, post office, floral and gift shop, dry cleaning services, hair salon, seasonal tax and financial services, residential real estate services, a credit union, banking retail center, several ATMs and a Sprint store. The surrounding area offers numerous retail shops, restaurants, hotels and the Overland Park Convention Center.

The great outdoors and wildlife management – preserving our natural resources

More than 60 percent of the campus is green space, with 60 acres of native prairie grass and 10 acres of buffalo grass surrounding the facilities. The campus features 40,000 shrubs and perennials, nearly 9,000 square feet of flower beds, and 6,800 trees designed to create a pedestrian-friendly and functional work environment. The campus boasts three acres of wetlands and three lakes totaling more than nine acres. Sprint retains the rain-runoff water in these lakes, which then is used to irrigate facility landscaping.

Additional amenities include a 3,000-seat amphitheater, two walking trails, four fountains and two water walls, a field house, recreation field, and tennis and basketball courts. A Chesapeake Retriever, Chase, is trained in humane goose control to keep the grounds clean and friendly.

Reduce, re-use and recycle on the Sprint Campus

Sprint was ranked #3 in Newsweek‘s environmental ranking of America’s largest corporations, the highest among U.S. telecom companies. Sprint is taking great strides to reduce carbon emissions and support efforts to improve the environment.

Sprint has an aggressive corporate goal to reduce operational waste from its commercial facilities. One example is Sprint’s partnership with Missouri Organic to collect and compost food waste from our headquarters location. Sprint Campus tenants are invited to participate in numerous opportunities, including glass recycling, clothing collection and reuse and regular paper shredding events for responsible disposal of personal documents. The Sprint Smart Commute program aims to reduce the environmental impact of getting to and from work by encouraging the use of alternative, “greener” forms of transportation.

Premier parking is available to campus occupants who carpool and/or drive hybrid, electric or alternative fuel vehicles to work. Campus bikes are also available for getting around campus, running errands, or for a healthy break. Sprint is proud to have earned distinctions in LEED, a nationally recognized benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.

This true “campus like” setting has everything one needs in a work community.
