Sprint Nextel Moves Corporate Headquarters back to OP
Sprint Nextel Corp said today it is returning its corporate headquarters to Overland Park. The move comes nearly three years after the company established its top offices in Reston, Va., which had been the home base of Nextel Communications Inc.
"This is great news for Overland Park, and for the Kansas City region," said Tracey Osborne, Overland Park Chamber of Commerce President. "Sprint has long been a civic leader and celebrated as a community convener and supporter of philanthropic causes. This streamlined approach for a consolidated headquarters should serve to strengthen its operations and brand, and we look forward to Sprint's growth in the area."
