OP Hospitals and Fast-growing Businesses Honored

The Overland Park Economic Development Council (EDC) will honor Ben Craig along with three fast-growing businesses and four Overland Park hospitals at its 2008 EDC Honors Luncheon on Thursday, January 3. The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Regnier Center on the campus of Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Boulevard.

Three Overland Park businesses will receive the NOVA award, given to fast-growing companies. A nova star is a strong, rapid increase in the brightness of a star. WingGate Travel, Saicon Solutions and The Mutual Fund Store will all be recipients of the NOVA award. The Business Hall of Honor award will be given to businesses committed to economic development as well as improving the quality of life in Overland Park. This year the EDC will honor Children’s Mercy South, Menorah Medical Center, Overland Park Regional Medical Center and Saint Luke’s South Hospital.

In addition to honoring Overland Park businesses, the EDC will celebrate the many contributions Ben Craig has made to Overland Park and economic development. Mr. Craig has worked for Metcalf Bank for almost 50 years. He also is credited with helping start Johnson County Community College and was president of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce in 1968 and 1969.
